Dior Diorshow Pump 'N' Volume Mascara

Diorshow Pump n'Volume Mascara Review

I know, I know. I've said before. You don't need to spend the big spends on mascara for really lovely lashes. L'Oréal are all over the lash game. But sometimes, a launch comes along that you just don't want to miss. When Dior drop a new mascara - Diorshow Pump 'N' Volume - you sit up and take notice.

For some background - I have about three short, fine eyelashes on my top lids, and my bottom lashes are basically the lash equivalent of a particularly exuberant toilet brush. Unfortunate. I pretty much never apply any mascara to my bottom lashes, but need allllll the help I can get for the pathetic top lid brigade. Volumising, thickening, lengthening mascaras are a must.

So. Pump 'N' Volume. Silly name. The tube is flexible, and the idea is that you can squeeze it to load up the brush with more product. The formula is marketed as "creamy to the last drop" which will be excellent if this is true - I hate it when a mascara which was a bit of an investment dries out after three uses.

Well - the product. Volumising - massively. This is not a "natural" mascara by any stretch of the imagination - it is definitely there. I honestly haven't felt the need to do much tube squeezing - this provides quite enough volume with just a normal swipe of the wand. It is a lovely, thickish formula - I personally like thicker mascaras with a bit of stick to them, but it may not be for everyone. Once it has dried, the formula is pretty transfer-proof, but it does take about 30 seconds to dry down - sneezers beware. You can easily ruin an eye look if you're not careful. It is midnight-black, and really lengthens the lashes too - you can see in the photo below how a) rubbish my top lashes are on my right eye with no mascara b) brilliantly this lengthens on the left eye c) ridiculous my non-mascara-ed bottom lashes are!

The wand, as it happens, is minimally stabby for a plastic wand - great if you're an accidental eye-stabber/enthusiastic mascaraist.

Genuinely hooded lids, sun spots and no foundation. You're all just going to have to cope.

Overall - it's a lovely mascara. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Pricey, yes, but if you like a premium mascara, this is a great choice.

  2. This sounds lovely for that volumising effect! I'm not one for false lashes, so on special occasions this sounds perfect xx
