Tony Moly Egg Pore Series

Tony Moly Egg Pore Balm, Cooling Pack and Primer

Tony Moly burst on to the mainstream UK market this year with the huge K-Beauty trend - and I'm so freakin' glad it did. Previously the preserve of Amazon or those travelling to South Korea (if that's you, I am well jel), it's now pretty easy to get hold of many of their products via Cult Beauty. They are a little more expensive through this route, however, so do have a good scout around on Amazon in case you can find them for less!

I bought all three in the Egg Pore series - designed for those of us with large pores and blackhead-prone, temperamental skin. These can be used individually, or in the suggested order of Blackhead Steam Balm, Tightening Cooling Pack, followed by Silky Smooth Balm.

I've been trying these out as a once-a-week treat for a couple of months, and I have to say - I love 'em. Thankfully, many Korean Beauty products are designed with oilier complexions in mind, so they suit me down to the ground!

Tony Moly Egg Pore Review
L-R - Steam Balm, Cooling Pack, Silky Smooth Balm
Tony Moly Blackhead Steam Balm is a gel-to-.. (well.. foam?) formula that does feel quite warming on the skin when applied. It has a very light, inoffensive citrusy scent, and sort-of effervesces to a light foamy balm texture on the skin. It apparently contains Vitamin E, charcoal powder and eggshell powder to exfoliate and lift blackheads without drying out the skin. Personally, I find this does a pretty good job (at least of lifting the blackness of blackheads) and leaves skin feeling soft, not stripped, when washed off.

I follow this with the Tightening Cooling Pack. This feels, and behaves, like a lighter-than-air clay mask. For me, it definitely has a cooling effect on application, and afterwards behaves like a pretty standard clay mask - again, top marks for oily skin. It's not going to change anyone's life, but it's non-drying and does what any good clay mask does - clearer pores ahoy!

The Silky Smooth Balm is a silicone-y feeling primer, designed for use under makeup. It has a very similar feel and texture to Benefit's Porefessional, and does a similarly excellent job at filling in pores. If you don't like that kind of texture, this won't be for you, but I find for my skin this works really well.

Have you tried any Tony Moly products?
