Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick Review

Dose Of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick

Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks go like freakin' hotcakes on Beauty Bay. Like, a day, and everything nude and berry is gone. Boom. No more. I was quick-fire enough to pick up two of these babies a while ago, and I've been giving them a thorough road test for the last few weeks.

You'll know by now about my limited/mixed success and definite mixed feelings on the whole liquid lipstick thing (If you don't, check out previous loves and hates on the liquid lipstick front), but I'm a glutton for dry-lipped punishment, and just keep testing these in the hope that, one day, I'll get it. I really liked Kat Von D's offering recently as a genuinely matte option that doesn't give you the cat's-bum lips situation, but I'd heard rave stuff about Dose of Colors' formula. I'm subjecting my lips once again to potential arid displeasure - don't say I'm not good to you.

Dose of Colors Bare With Me
A slightly slopey doe-foot applicator. A dream to apply with.

Thankfully - I needn't have worried.

Apart from the super-delicious cakey-vanilla scent, Dose Of Colors have managed to make a really great formula here. These have a pleasant, creamy-mouse texture when applied, and have a much longer dry-down period than, say, Colourpop Ultra Mattes or Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks. This allows for a little correction on application, and generally makes them much more forgiving on a slightly more textured lip than one full of fillers and Instagrammed out of its life.

Dose of Colors Berry Me and Bare With Me Swatch
DOC Berry Me (original) and Bare With Me swatched
I was a little impatient with my swatch photo here - you can see these haven't quite dried down yet - but you get the idea. Berry Me is a more purpley-berry tone, and Bare With Me is a classic peachy-nude. They are one-swipe opaque, which is a bonus, and play well with super-shiny lip toppers, too.

I find these relatively comfortable to wear, seriously long lasting and minimally drying, which is a mega plus. They seem to fade pretty evenly too, with no weird white mouth-ring syndrome (phew) and no flaking or bunching up in the corners of the lips.

I was seriously impressed with these, and will definitely be picking up more in future!

Have you tried any of these liquid lipsticks?

  1. I have read so many amazing reviews about DOSE of Colour liquid lipsticks and gosh, the shade Berry Me is a beauty. Looks like the perfect Autumn shade too.

    1. Berry Me is such a lovely shade! The formula is honestly excellent-far better than some that are much more expensive!

    1. I know-if they had the shade range and neutrals of Jouer, I'd be over the moon!
